Human Resilience Meets Developer Origin Story
Online Education Project: Coconino County–2020
In the year 2020 I was asked to work in Public Health to assist with the
Covid Response. One of my projects was to create online training that
would allow Food Establishments and River Guides to get the training
that they needed online.
These projects involved:
- Research on community priorities with multiple
stakeholders - Creating content, tests, payment portals
- Creating prototypes
- Hosting options that met community needs
- Creating databases
- Testing
- Going live and assessment
Outcomes:
- $100,000 revenue for the County
- Businesses were given an economic lifeline
- The public had robust access and content
Follow Up:
- In speaking with customers who took the course I realized
that scenarios would be a better way to learn. - By 2022 there was a new threat concerning a Norovirus
Outbreak in the canyon. As the investigation was being
conducted we were able to post preventative safety data
online for the public and the river guides. - The system continues to provide services for the community.
